Waxing
- It is normal to experience some slight soreness, small bumps and redness particularly after your first wax. These symptoms should subside over the next 24 hours.
- Keep the waxed area clean.
- Avoid heat and friction for 24 hours after your wax.
- No sunbathing for 24 hours after your wax.
- No swimming for 24 hours after your wax.
- Do not apply deodorant, body sprays, lotions or other products to the area other than those recommended by your therapist.
- Moisturise every day to keep skin supple and help new hairs grow through normally.
- To prevent ingrown hairs, you should exfoliate your skin gently 2-3 days after your wax 2-3 times a week
- If it was your first wax you may notice a small amount of re-growth after a week or so, it can take up to 4 treatments for your hair to get on the same growth cycle which will then give you the best results.
- Do not shave between your appointments.
- Regular waxing is recommended every 3-6 weeks.
Tanning
- Shower between 4-8 hours after your spray depending on how dark your desired tan is. We recommend 4 hours for a light tan, 6 hours for a medium tan and 8 hours for a dark tan.
- Avoid water whilst tan is developing.
- Avoid heavy exercise or any sweating whilst tan is developing.
- Pat skin dry. Do not rub skin.
- Use a non-oily body moisturiser every day to maximise duration of the tan.
Manicure/Pedicure
- Avoid picking, biting your nails or picking at things with your nails.
- Wear gloves whenever washing up, cleaning or gardening.
- Use cuticle oil daily to nourish the skin around the nails which will support the health of your nails.
- Always have product removed professionally.
- Moisturise regularly but avoid hand creams containing lanolin which can cause lifting.
- Always wipe nails after application of sun cream, tanning products, hair colourants and any other products that may stain.
- Do not file the edge of your nails as this is where there is a seal that keeps the gels strong, breaking this seal can cause water in and allow them to chip.
- Polish can fade in excessive sun and chlorinated water. (Dry your nails after swimming and before sun bathing to minimise colour fading.)
Massage
- Avoid heavy meals after a massage.
- Drink plenty of water to help flush out toxins.
- Avoid alcohol and caffeine as massage is a detoxifying treatment.
- Avoid strenuous exercise.
- Do not shower after an aromatherapy massage, the oils need time to penetrate the skin in order to be absorbed into your system to achieve best results.
- Rest as much as possible.
- You may feel emotional, it is quite natural to feel tearful.
- Increased urination or flu-like symptoms may be experienced, but these are temporary and will pass once your body re-balances itself, it will be replaced with a feeling of comfort.
Facials
- Follow your therapist’s advice on how to treat your skin after your treatment.
- Avoid wearing makeup for at least 6 hours after your treatment.
- Drink plenty of water.
- Cleanse, tone and moisturise your face every day to prevent moisture loss.
- Avoid direct or indirect heat such as saunas and hot baths and showers.
- Avoid sunbathing for at least 12 hours.
- Do not apply perfumes to the treated area.
- Do not have any other facial treatment for at least 48 hours after your treatment.
- Do not apply any other exfoliating products to your skin for 72 hours after your facial.
- Always remove all traces of makeup at the end of the day.
- Use SPF every day to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. (Even in the winter!)
Microdermabrasion
- Your skin may have a pink or red complexion, slight skin tightness and a sensitive sensation.
- Avoid direct sunlight.
- SPF must be used at all times even when it is overcast or raining.
- Use of saunas and any heat treatments are to be avoid for a minimum of 1 week after your treatment.
- Avoid makeup for 24 hours.
- Avoid waxing or threading for 1 week after treatment.
- Avoid laser hair removal treatments for a minimum of 2 weeks.
- Cleanse, tone and moisturise your skin daily.
- Avoid rubbing and exfoliating your face for 1 week.
- Apply serums recommended by your therapist.
- Maximum results will be seen after 5-10 treatments and should be scheduled every 2-4 weeks.
Lash lift
- Do not get your lashes wet for the first 24 hours.
- Be gentle with your lashes. (Do not rub your lashes.)
- Use of a sauna or steam room may weaken the effect of the lift.
- Do not wear eye makeup for 24 hours.
- Do not use eyelash curlers.
- Swimming may also weaken the effect of the lift.
- You can have the treatment every 8 weeks.
- You will notice a drop in your lashes around 6 weeks after your treatment.
- A Lash conditioning serum should be used daily to ensure your lashes remain hydrated.
Lash extensions
- Avoid getting lashes wet for the first 24 hours after your treatment.
- Avoid saunas and steam rooms for 48 hours.
- Do not pick, pull or rub your lashes.
- If you experience any irritation, please contact us.
- Do not use eyelash curlers.
- Avoid using any oil-based products around the eye area.
- It is not necessary to wear mascara but if you choose to do so please use one recommended by your lash technician.
- Eye makeup should be removed with an oil-free remover.
- Eye makeup should be removed gently by wiping over the eye and lashes not rubbing.
- Brush through your lashes every day using the wand given to you by the lash technician.
- Please get your lashes removed professionally to eliminate any damage to your natural lashes.
- To keep on top of the condition of your lashes make sure you book in for your infill.
Tinting
- Do not rub the treated area.
- Avoid heat treatments for at least 24hrs.
- Avoid sunbathing for up to 24hrs, as this can cause the tint to fade
- Avoid swimming/ saunas and perfumed products for at least 24hrs after treatment.
- Oil based makeup remover can cause the tint to fade quicker.
- Exposure to sun/UV lights for long periods can cause the tint to fade quicker.
- Brow tinting results last around 2-4 weeks
- Lash tinting results last around 4-6 weeks.
Ear-piercing
- Wash hands thoroughly before touching studs or ear.
- Cleanse front and back of the ear 2 times a day without removing studs. Then rotate studs 2 or 3 times. In between cleansing, the ear should be kept dry.
- Keep hair spray, soap, shampoo and other solutions away from the ear.
- After shampooing, the ear should be rinsed with clean water and then cleansed with a solution recommended by your piercer.
- The piercing area should be cleansed then kept dry, especially after bathing, swimming or exercise.
- Do not remove studs or handle your ears.
- Ensure the butterfly back of the piercing is positioned at the tip of the piercing post. This ensures the earring remains loose during the healing process, reducing inflammation.
- Leave the studs in the ears for 6 weeks. (12 weeks for cartilage).
- After 6 weeks (12 weeks for cartilage), the stud can be removed, and other earrings can be worn.
- Use only post-style earrings continuously for the first 6 months from piercing.
- The post should be surgical stainless steel or other hypo-allergenic material.
- Minor pain or redness may occur immediately, this is normal and will settle within 48 hours provided proper after-care is carried out. If undue pain/swelling/redness occurs at any time, seek medical advice before removing the ear-piercing stud and tell your therapist.
